New York Atty Gen’l begins antitrust investigation over reaction to S & W sellout
America is a free country. . . Blacks don’t have to go on vacation in South Carolina if they don’t like the Confederate flag being flown over the state capitol.
Gun owners don’t have to buy guns made by Corporate Cowards. Smith & Wesson should have thought about this BEFORE it wimped out.
The NEW YORK TIMES reports on March 30, 2000 that Smith & Wesson has “come under fierce financial pressure from other firearms manufacturers and dealers” opposed to its selling out earlier this month. The loss of business has apparently been so dramatic that the Attorney General for the State of New York is initiating an antitrust investigation of the industry. The Attorney General for Connecticut, who is also conducting an investigation, is quoted as saying that the reaction is absolutely unprecedented and could put Smith & Wesson out of business.
According to the TIMES, some wholesalers and retailers don’t want to sell Smith & Wesson products. (Surprise!)
