Bushmaster Firearms Responds

The recent settlement by Smith & Wesson with the Clinton Administration shows that they cut their own deal and didn’t care for the industry’s other players. Although the law suits and most issues deal with handguns, Bushmaster feels that the industry should try to come together in responding to the public’s concerns. The decisions reached should be for safety and individual protection and not some agreement that makes a joke out of meaningful efforts. The government should stop their political posturing and sit down with the entire industry for meaningful results. If the government would enforce the laws on the books, and if the industry would work harder to educate and train people in the proper use of all firearms, it would be a great first step in working together.
