My baby is back!
To those of you who have been around long enough, you are aware of the “incident” I’ve been dealing with.
For those of you who don’t know, I’ll give you the super condensed version: Was attacked, defended myself by displaying my weapon, chased him off, was persecuted for it. Went through 6 weeks of hell before they decided I was right all along, and declined to file any charges.
Well, now the good news – today I went down to the PD on my lunch hour and got my .357 back. It is at the gun store having the evidence sticker removed as we speak. (How smart is that – put a large evidence sticker on the rubber grip????)
I can’t tell you how relived I am. Unless you’ve gone through being hassled by the police for defending yourself, you can’t know how this feels, how the pressure is a constant in your life.
I’ve learned much from this experience:
1. The police are not necessarily on your side.
2. Do not be cooperative when they question you.
3. NEVER give up your gun. They declined charges 2 WEEKS ago. I finally just now got it back.
“From my cold dead fingers” just took on a whole new meaning. I’ll NEVER give up my gun again.
