I refuse to be a victim – period!
After subjecting myself to edition after edition of the local and national news, it’s obvious to me that I can’t rely on laws that criminals ignore to protect my life. I’ve shared those concerns with people who are familiar with this subject from various points of expertise.
My lawyer told me that I would be much better off explaining to the police why some dirtbag (or dirtbagette) sustained a fatal gunshot wound from my pistol, than I would be if I were laying in my
grave because I failed to take adequate measures to protect myself BEFORE the need arose. She said I would be well within my legal rights to use a gun to protect myself or another innocent person from a life-threatening criminal attack.
My cop friend told me to never dismiss the potential for a violent attack from someone who doesn’t fit my “mental stereotype” of a predator, since an alarming number of women have joined the ranks of violent criminals. She added that female attackers typically seek female victims (doesn’t THAT make you feel safe?).
My neighbor, a long-time member of the NRA, told me that the best definition for “Gun Control” is having gained the ability-through practice-to hit one’s target.
My Doctor (herself, a graduate of SEVEN women’s self defense courses and a firm believer in Second Amendment Rights) told me what my targets will be: A MALE attacker will have TWO “Kill Zones”-his head (brain) and his upper chest (heart and lungs); a FEMALE attacker will have THREE “Kill Zones”-her head (brain), her upper chest (heart & lungs) and her lower pelvic region (uterus & surrounding arteries & blood vessels that support it…ouch…OUCH!)
The decision to of whether or not to own a gun is one that is very personal and binding, in terms of your safety and future.
I’ve decided that the right choice for ME is to have every option legally available at my disposal, because the closest cop might not be close enough to save me!
I refuse to be a victim-period!
