ARMED ARIZONA RANCHERS DETAIN ILLEGAL ALIENS
See The Washington Post 06/21/00 — “The Mexicans know the game is up when they see the gringo and his dogs coming up on them,” says rancher Roger Barnett who also makes his point by wearing a pistol on his hip. The community of Douglas, Arizona sits right on the Mexican border and has become a favorite crossing point for illegal aliens, many of whom bring drugs or diseases with them. Rural homeowners in the area have had their property littered with trash and fences destroyed. The U.S. Border Patrol has been ineffective in stopping illegal aliens coming into this part of Arizona, so ordinary people have taken up arms to defend their country. This has upset extreme left-wing groups like the League Of United Latin American Citizens who denounce the defense of the United States against foreign invasion as “blatant race baiting”.
