Dr. John Lott of Yale introduced the second edition of his
book “More Guns, Less Crime” at the Cato Institute Friday. Two
sometime-critics responded to his presentation.

One said Dr. Lott’s massive research has changed the debate,
and that he had become convinced Dr. Lott was right. The other
said he wasn’t yet convinced, but that if he had to wager his
house, he would bet Dr. Lott was right, though he suspects there is
less effect on crime than Dr. Lott believes.

Those are quantum shifts.

The new book extends the data on concealed carry by two years,
and includes information on the failures of the Brady Act, one-gun-
per-month and other newer laws.
