PROPOSED NRA BYLAW AMENDMENTS
Two proposed amendments to NRA’s Bylaws may be reviewed at http://www.2ampd.net/truth.htm and petitions downloaded.
The first Bylaw Amendment would rearrange the NRA Board of Directors so that 50 directors would be elected for one-year terms from each state, 24 would be elected for staggered two-year terms nationally, and the 76th would be elected by members in attendance at the annual meeting.
This amendment would make Directors more responsive to the needs of people from their states. Right now, the Nominating Committee effectively controls who will be on the Board and the needs and desires of the rank and file membership gets the short shrift.
The second Bylaw Amendment would prohibit people or organizations who are employed, do consulting work for, or otherwise derive a substantial percentage of their annual income from NRA to engage in campaigning in Board elections. This would keep vendors from contributing to the slate nominated by the Nominating Comittee with an eye towards currying favor to obtain or keep lucrative contracts.
If you are a voting member of the NRA, please take the time to review these proposed amendments. I would also urge you to download, sign, and mail petitions for both amendments to the address listed.
