Washington Supreme Court Ruling.
We here in Washington who like the right to defend ourselves applauded when a state supreme court judge threw out a lawsuit against a couple, the Clines, who’s gun was stolen. The .44 was used by the theif to kill a 25 year old women, and her parents were suing the theft victims for allegedly “not doing enough to prevent the gun from being stolen”. The judge ruled that private citizens don’t have a responsibility to protect others from crime. (Much like national cases have proven that the government and police force don’t, either.)
Suing couples like this, who have been victims of a crime themselves, and, sadly, may have naturally felt terrible about what happened with their stolen gun, is just one more thing that is all too common around the country. Sue the gun manufacturers. Sue legal gun owners. I wonder, why are many rape victims and other victims suing the system, they biased media, for telling them they should not carry a gun??? Well, it doesn’t work that way. We are responsible for ourselves. Cheers to King County Superior Court Judge Finkel for being a balanced, non-politically motivated representative.
