I am completely for guns and self defense. I am a 24 year old female who left a terrifying relationship and bought a gun to defend myself against my exboyfriend when I finally had the courage to leave him. He had threatened to kill me. This is also the same man that threatened to kill our two year old son as well if I attempted to try and take him from the home if I left, “I’d rather him dead than taken.” One would think that someone like myself, one who has no criminal history whatsoever, not even as much as a speeding ticket, would at least have the right to defend herself and the life of her small child against this man… WRONG.
I am now being prosecuted and faced with prison because I subsequently fell in love with a man who’s record is not so clean. Their equation? He’s a felon, she bought a gun, so it must be his. There is something seriously wrong here!! My rights have been taken away by association! For those of you who are interested in what the government and ATF are doing here in San Diego, CA, feel free to email me. This kind of injustice has to stop!! Should we all just lay down and die?! It’s apparently what I was supposed to do, yet didn’t. It took four years for me to stand up for myself and the terrified look in my toddler son’s eyes to get me to leave the abusive relationship … and prison is where I will end up for wanting to defend myself. I will be standing trial at the end of next month. What is wrong with this picture?!
