Defending Our Second Amendment Right

March 1st, 2012

This past December marked the 20th anniversary of the death of John Lennon. To mark this event his widow, Yoko Ono has paid to erect billboards supporting gun control in three major cities, New York, Los Angeles, and Cleveland. The billboard displays Lennon?s smashed; blood stained glasses with a reference to how many people have been killed by guns in the United States since Lennon?s death. Ono told the BBC that living in the United States compares to ?living in a war zone.?
Below are just a few of the results of gun control in other countries that I believe Yoko is simply not aware.

Rwanda
1964 – Gun-control established in Rwanda.
1994 – People of the Tutsi Tribe, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Result – 800,000 killed.

Cambodia
1956 – Gun-control established in Cambodia.
1975 to 1977 – Educated people and landowners, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
Result – 1 million killed.

Uganda
1970 – Gun-control established in Uganda.
1971 to 1979 – Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Result – 300,000 killed.

Guatemala
1964 – Gun-control established in Guatemala.
1964 to 1981 – Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Result – 100,000 killed.

To counter these anti-gun billboards, the Second Amendment Sisters are requesting donations to fund their own billboard in Ohio along interstate I-75 for travelers that go between Michigan and Florida.
The Second Amendment Sisters also have started a grass-roots effort to erect Burma Shave signs along heavily traveled roads to raise public awareness of the importance of the Second Amendment, and preserving our constitutional rights. The Second Amendment Sisters are looking for permission from people who own property along heavily traveled roads to place these signs. The Second Amendment Sisters will take the responsibility of erecting and maintaining the signs but they need property and permission and that is where YOU can help.
If you value the Second Amendment and want to help stop any further erosion of our constitutional freedoms, contact the Second Amendment Sisters. Make a donation or give permission for sign placement or volunteer your time and get involved. You can visit the Second Amendment Sisters website at WWW.SAS-AIM.ORG or contact

Many Americans have fought and died for this country, paying the ultimate sacrifice for our constitutional freedoms including the Second Amendment. These freedoms allow Yoko Ono the right to express her opinion on a billboard. Now you can express your opinion by supporting the billboard sponsored by the Second Amendment Sisters. I strongly suggest if Yoko Ono feels the United States compares to living in a war zone, that she leave this great country and go back to the country she came from.
