Who started this initiative?
Interesting topic I would like to see covered here is which woman started this initiative as a strong voice against the gun control efforts of private organizations and the U.S. Congress? She should be commended and, if possible, recognized on the home page of this website. Annie Oakley, Belle Star, and others like them were the representatives of the pioneering, frontier women. It didn’t take long for women from the east coast to adapt to the harsh landscape, climate and outlawness associated with the mid-west, southwest and mountain states. Cradling a rifle in a buckboard or covered wagon with the kids in the back while the husband rode point out front was the tradition during the 19th century. Today, we are finding more women, and rightly so, carrying a license for a concealed hand-gun because of the large number of idiots allowed to walk freely in our society.
So, if we can identify this woman of the 20th century, I would to see her name added along with those pioneering women- Annie and Belle!!!
