Here is the latest threat to our gun rights here in Florida. I have done some preliminary research and found the sponsors of this bill are from Dade and Broward Counties with the exception of Miller who is a product of the Tampa, Hillsborough County area. This is no surprise to anyone familiar with the origins of most anti gun legislation in the state.
For a summary of each of the sponsors go to the following links.
Each of the sites starts with http://www.leg.state.fl.us/house/members
For Effman /h98.html
For Gottlieb /h101.html
For Miller /h59.html
For Wasserman-Schultz /h97.html
You can also find your state Senator listed on this site so while you are there drop them a note and tell them how you feel about this legislation.
More to follow on this.

Subject: Florida House bill 0363
Morrris Galor sent a message about this bill. I printed it out and scanned it over. This bill is banning guns and is very similar to Australia's situation. Print it out if you have not done so already. http://www.leg.state.fl.us/session/2000/House/bills/billtext/html/billtext/hb0363.html
See page 6--assault weapon shall also mean any of the following. 1. A semiautoamtic, centerfire rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following: (the list would include any semiautomatic rifle)
See pages 7 & 8--No importation of unsafe handguns except for the police and associated agencies. ( I have paraphrased this one.)
The people who wrote this legislation come to the table with nothing except public opinion. We come to the table with the right to own and bear arms in the United States Constitution.
We are about to have a fight to retain this right while arguing about semiautomatic hunting weapons and my M1 which is a national match weapon for competition. The bill's sponsors will try to retain something or in other words get something for nothing. This bill must be defeated in its entirety. Much of this bill deals with giving weapons to persons under 18. Certainly there are laws on the books which cover this. If this bill passes we can kiss it all goodbye because it goes to the heart of transactions between a parent and a 17 year old son or daughter and it goes to the heart of now legal transactions between individuals. This is a dangerous bill for our constitutional freedoms.
Kindly print this bill out for yourself and read it in its entirety. There are certainly other things hidden in it.
Thanks Morris and to the other person who put this on the FSSA site for bringing this matter to our attention.
