Man Shot During Robbery At Tackle Shop
Suspect Brandished Knife, Owner Shot Him February 5, 2002

ANDERSON, S.C. — The owner of an Anderson County fishing shop in
Anderson County opened fire during an apparent robbery
Tuesday morning, hitting one of the robbers.

According to Anderson deputies, four suspects were attempting to hold up
Long’s Fishing Center on Highway 24, near Lake Hartwell.

At least one of the robbers brandished what appeared to be a knife. The
owner of the business opened fire, hitting one of the suspects.

That man was taken to Anderson Area Medical Center. The other people
involved in the apparent robbery were taken into custody by deputies.
