Saginaw ???????????????????????? (01/31/03)–Three men broke into a homeowner’s house with
guns blazing Thursday, only to find the homeowner shooting back at them.
ABC12′s Joel Doepker was live at the scene with the story.

The double shooting happened on East Outer Drive on Saginaw’s south side
around 11 p.m. Thursday night. Tasha Willis say she heard a knock at her
door and through her window saw a man walk down the sidewalk around to the
side of her garage.

Seconds later, she heard a loud boom which was gunshots and ran into her
bedroom to get her gun. On her way to get the gun, she was shot once by the
man. Finding her .38-caliber handgun in her dresser, she came out into the
kitchen, face to face at point blank range with all three.

Tasha and one of the men pointed their guns at each other and started
shooting. She stopped when she hit the man and he fell to her kitchen floor.
They dragged their friend out of the home and Tasha grabbed the phone, hid in
a closet and called 911.

Two of the suspects dragged the man who was shot outside. He apparently
was too heavy and they left him for police. His spinal cord was severed and
he will be paralyzed for the rest of his life.
