Deputies Search For Accused Repeat Rapist
Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies say they know who they’re looking for, they just don’t know where to look. Sergeant Lancy Weeks is an investigator on the trail of 31-year-old Henry McMillan — a man she calls a violent, sadistic rapist.
McMillan is wanted for on two charges of sexual assault. The alleged victim is McMillan’s ex-girlfriend; assaulted once on April 30th, then again on May 22nd… both times in her South Beltline Boulevard Home.
Sergeant Weeks says she gets daily phone calls from the victim, who lives in fear that McMillan will return — as police say he did the night of May 1st. That night, deputies say he fled when they arrived.
“He’s been arrested for Armed Robbery, Assault and Battery With Intent to Kill, Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Criminal Domestic Violence…” says Sergeant Weeks. “He’s definitely a violent person, someone we want to get off the streets.”
During the third assault, says Weeks, McMillan attacked the woman with their mutual children standing just on the other side of the door.
“Those are his children and he didn’t care how his actions were affecting them,” says Sergeant Weeks. “I can’t imagine being a parent and this is happening to me and the children on the outside of the door, hearing what’s going on.”
Sergeant Weeks says it’s a pattern of assault that could escalate… one that will only stop with your help — help finding this accused violent violator.
McMillan has family in the area, but police aren’t sure whether he might be hiding out with them, with friends or if he’s on the run.
