Man found BEATEN in alley is identified

A man who was found Wednesday morning severely beaten in an alley in the 5700 block of Mimika Avenue has been identified as Donnie Stewart, 39, St. Louis police said Thursday.

Stewart, who had been beaten in the head and tied up with a string of Christmas tree lights, was in critical condition Thursday at an undisclosed hospital. Stewart lives in the 3300 block of Hamilton Avenue. Detectives said they had no suspects and no strong leads.
