Homowner Shoots Intruder, Killing HimDA Probes Deadly Home Invasion

Harrison Twp (KDKA) Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala
is investigating a deadly shooting in Harrison Township earlier this
week in which a woman shot and killed a masked intruder in her home.

Yesterday Zappala visited the Spruce Street home where police say Ras
Saleem Hudson, 20, of the North Side broke in Monday night and
pistol-whipped a resident.

The man’s wife reportedly grabbed a shotgun and killed Hudson.

The DA’s office is looking into the deadly shooting; and Zappala says it
will take at least a week before he puts together a complete report on
what happened.

“What appears to be somebody entering a home with the intent to use
deadly force — and the homeowner countered that with deadly force. So,
I mean that’s –preliminarily — that’s what it looks; but, like I said,
there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done.” — Stephen Zappala,

Zappala says he’s trying to decide if the wife should face any charges
for shooting Hudson.
