Remember that article that was brought to our attention on the board. Here is their response to me telling them about my personal experiences and the experiences of women who have used a gun to save lives.

REPLY FROM GLAMOUR READER SERVICE
Thank you for writing to GLAMOUR to express your opinion on our January article,
“Women Gunned Down
——————————————————————————–
?Why?” As always we appreciate hearing from our readers, and
your letter was forwarded to our senior editors for their review.
Gun control is obviously a divisive issue in this country, and one which
continues to shape the political landscape, especially in this election year.
The editors of GLAMOUR recognize first and foremost that the magazine has a
highly diverse readership, representing all segments of the population. That
said, it has been an important part of the 61-year history of GLAMOUR for the
magazine to take a stand on issues that affect the health and well-being of its
readers.
GLAMOUR’S primary ambition in publishing “Women Gunned Down” was not to pinpoint
specific flaws in gun legislation or to target individual gun manufacturers, but
simply to make the point that until practical steps are taken?either by the
population of this country or by our lawmakers?scores of people will continue to
be lost to gun violence. GLAMOUR felt it was important to highlight the apparent
randomness of many gun deaths, and to demonstrate the fact that many of the 12
victims described in the story could have been GLAMOUR readers?your next-door
neighbor, your college roommate, your sister.
We appreciate your taking the time to let us know what you thought about what
you’ve read, and hope that you will continue to find thought-provoking and
interesting articles in our magazine.
