Let us carry guns

I’ve read a lot in my computer in-box about the arguments that have
erupted following another tragic shooting in Montreal.

My hopes of seeing the long-gun registry scrapped are mostly dashed. You
can always bank on people voting emotionally and not logically.

I keep wondering why Canadians continue begging to be disarmed. No
matter how many police officers or students are gunned down, no matter
if the guns used are legal or illegal, we demand to be victims.

Despite endless reports from places like the U.S. and Israel, where
citizens are allowed to arm themselves in the event of a random attack,
Canadians cannot be convinced that carrying a concealed gun is a good
idea.

Self-defence is our right. But we are told to leave it to the pros.
Those must be the police officers I keep seeing getting shot on the
news.

Supposedly, most Canadians support “tougher” gun control.

I’m not one of them.
