SRA – Family Of Slain Woman Cannot Sue Police, Dispatcher..
FYI – I don?t really know what could have been done IN TIME to help this
victims other than someone armed being on the scene by pure luck…. Security
at Park& Rides has always been a big issue with me as in NJ your car may not
always be there when you return 10hrs later. The mea culpa here, lies with
P&R operator (DRPA?) and its lack of security.

CAMDEN, N.J. — The city government, police department and a 911 operator
will not be held liable for failing to prevent the murder of a commuter, a
judge has ruled. Superior Court Judge Charles A. Little on Tuesday dismissed
the lawsuit filed by the mother of Christine Eberle, a woman kidnapped and
killed by two men after she got off a PATCO Hi-Speedline train in Camden in
2001.
Eberle, an accountant in Philadelphia who lived in suburban Washington
Township, was on her way from the commuter train to her car in a
park-and-ride lot when she was abducted. The 27-year-old victim’s mother,
Linda Reis, blamed the 911 operator and others for not responding to a call
from someone who said he saw two men forcing a woman into a car.
The judge said a public entity cannot be sued when employees fail to perform
their jobs. His ruling came a day before jury selection would have begun if
the trial had gone forward.
Reis plans to appeal the ruling, said her lawyer, Andrew Rossetti.
Last week, the Delaware River Port Authority, which also was named in the
lawsuit, settled with Reis for an undisclosed amount. Last year, two Camden
men, Ryshaone Thomas and Marcus Toliver, pleaded guilty in the murder. Both
are serving 43-year prison sentences.

that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her panty
hose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her
attacker got that fatal bullet wound…
