Killing people with a car gets life in prison. Why don’t people who choose to use firearms get the same sentence? oh that’s right! In gun murders, it’s the gun’s fault and in car murders, it’s the driver of the car who is at fault.

Life for killer senior driver

LOS ANGELES (AP)–An old man whose car hurtled through a farmers’
market, killing 10 people and injuring more than 70, was convicted
yesterday of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, the harshest
verdict possible.

George Weller, 89, and in poor health, could spend the rest of his life
in prison for the 2003 crash. He faces a maximum of 18 years in jail.

Weller was not in court to hear the verdict, reached by a jury after
eight days of deliberation.

His lawyers argued that he mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal instead
of the brake and panicked when the car raced into the open-air market.
