Mountie guilty of firearms charge

A Mountie has pleaded guilty to a charge of careless use of a firearm
and will be sentenced in the new year.

Const. Adree Mohammed Zahara, 40, fired her service pistol during a
domestic dispute at her home in Chester Basin on Oct. 15.

Zahara also asked the Bridgewater court for permission to contact her
former partner, Const. Chuck Simm, to arrange access to their child.
Zahara, who is off duty until the case is concluded, will be sentenced
Feb. 7.
