Guns offer protection

In a perfect world, more gun control would be the answer to what
happened at Virginia Tech. Unfortunately for us though, criminals choose
to live in the real world.

In light of that fact, doesn’t it make sense to look for answers there
instead of fantasy land? The anti-gun crowd consistently ignores the
fact that criminals will always have guns and weapons to use against us
no matter what laws we pass. Banning guns only guarantees that the
people who obey the laws will not have them. Does it really make sense
that only the people who desire to hurt us should be the ones who are
armed?

The reason that schools have mass shootings is because governments have
decided to make them gun-free zones, which makes them easy targets. An
exception to this is the State of Utah where guns can be carried on
school property and, surprisingly enough, the state has never had a mass
school shooting.

Other examples of gun-free zones are most of the big cities in the U.S.
like New York, Chicago and Washington, DC. Those cities make it almost
impossible for a citizen to have or carry a gun yet they have the most
gun problems.
