Gun Control assignment erases black and white POV
“Before I began this research project, my opinions about gun control
were
very black and white. The Brady Bill was a great idea and gun rights
groups
were too uncaring about the danger of random violence against their
fellow
humans. All that they cared about was making it very easy for people to
purchase firearms in our country. I felt so strongly about this that I
based some of my voting decisions on this issue in the past.
I now think that gun rights groups such as the NRA have very valid
points
and express them rather well, or at least as well as any gun control
supporter. The NRA, like HCI, also tries to educate about gun safety
and
accident prevention, but they fear that their Constitutional rights are
in
danger of infringement. I think that this is a more realistic fear than
is
at first apparent…”
