…although you already know that. Is this one old news for you? This AB 273 sounds pretty repulsive. I only read the first part – I ignored the MMM’s instructions on how to support the legislation. THought you might want to do the opposite, unless you’re already on it. Here’s the text as found on the MMM site:

On August 7, 2000, at 8:30 a.m. in Room 4203 of the California State House in Sacramento, the Senate Appropriations Committee will consider AB 273 (Scott), which establishes a responsible , common-sense handgun licensing system. AB 273 will require all handgun buyers to get a license. To qualify for a license, buyers must pass a hands-on safety test, a basic proficiency test, and a written test covering gun laws and the risks of gun ownership. License applicants will also have to provide a thumbprint and pass a thorough background check.

Contact your State Senator TODAY, and tell him or her to SUPPORT AB 273.
