Another Law Suit Dismissed!
The St. Louis County Circuit Court last week granted firearms manufacturers their long-pending motion to dismiss the city’s “junk lawsuit,” putting an end to another attempt to hold law-abiding companies responsible for the acts of criminals. “The attempt here is not only to blur, but obliterate, the line that separates public nuisance claims from those based on product liability law,” said the court. Responding to the decision, Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF vice president and general counsel, said, “We are very pleased with the decision and call upon the City of St. Louis to embrace the path of cooperation with the firearms industry to achieve the mutual goals of reducing criminal use of firearms and accidents.”
