Attention Indiana Members
There is a purposed Senate Bill in the Indiana Assembly that will stop cities in Indiana from filing nonsense suits against the gun industry. This proposed legislation is needed due to the recent outbreak of cities across the nation that are brining nuisance lawsuits against the firearm industry; resulting in increased costs from the manufacturer down to the end line consumer and what they hope to be the
eventual taking of our second Amendment rights!
As some of you know, Gary, IN has jumped on the lawsuit bandwagon. They filed in the latter half of last year. Please send your letters of disgust to:
Governor O?Bannon
Office of the Governor
Indianapolis, IN 46204-2797
Also write to Mayor Scott King in Gary, IN.
Indiana State Senator Robert Meeks is chairman of the Corrections, Criminal & Civil procedure board in the State Senate. He has introduced Senate Bill #045 which prevents the State from brining civil action against a firearms or ammunition manufacture, trade association, or seller for: 1) recovery of damages resulting from, injunctive relief or abatement of a nuisance relating to the lawful: A) design; B) manufacture; C) marketing; D) sale; of a firearm or ammunition for a firearm; or 2) recovery of damages resulting from the criminal or unlawful misuse of a firearm or ammunition for a firearm by a third party. The individual would still have the right to pursue damages resulting from defective firearms.
THIS BILL MUST GET OUT OF COMMITTEE BEFORE BEING HEARD ON THE SENATE FLOOR!!!!!
THE FOLLOWING SENATORS NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU NOW!!!!!!!!!!
Please take a few minutes to call or write them, as the committee will be meeting in early January. Feel free to pass this on to anyone who may be interested.

SAMPLE LETTER:
Dear Senator __________,
I would like you to support Senate Bill No. 45 which prohibits the state or a municipal corporation from bringing action against the firearm industry for the legal manufacture of firearms and ammunition. These frivolous lawsuits infringe on free trade and are an attempt to suppress the Second Amendment. Please vote ‘yes’ for Bill # 45 so it may be brought to the Senate floor.
Sincerely,

Also, I got word early this morning that there is to be a meeting about SB45 on January 12th. Those who wish to speak about the bill will be heard before the meeting. I am still attempting to get all the info about this. I’ll post as soon as I know for sure what is happening.
