AXE THIEF’S ONE SCARY DUDE

A silver handgun and a long-handled axe are the weapons of choice for a
pair of serial robbers working independently of each other west of the
city.
Spruce Grove/Stony Plain RCMP are looking for two men each believed to
be responsible for two recent robberies.
The first suspect is wanted for robberies at Shell gas stations in
Spruce Grove. Mounties say the man was armed with a long-handled axe
when he entered the Shell station on Calahoo Road around 10 p.m.
Saturday.
The next day around 8 a.m., a person matching the same description
robbed the Shell station at Westland Market Mall.
“It scared the heck out of the attendant,” said RCMP Const. Craig
Albers. The suspect is described as white, around 5-foot-7 and 150
pounds, with a slim build, unshaven dark facial hair and eyebrows.
Police are also on the lookout for a man who held up the Beach Corner
Liquor Store, located just west of Stony Plain, and Alberta Beach
Treasury Branch in Alberta Beach on Oct. 15 and 18 respectively.
The suspect wore a black balaclava and used a silver handgun to make his
demands.
