I was emailing one of my old Army buddies about that movie “Blackhawk Down.”Just to give you an idea what kind of a friend he is-I visited in November and he knew that after coming in from the airport (particularly after September 11) I’d be unarmed and a little unhappy about it. The first thing he did was hand me a bag-with a Colt .45 acp and two spare magaazines! It kept me nice and warm while I was in the Carolinas! Anyway, thought you’d be interested in what he said:

I watched a Larry King Live (I taped it) about the Blackhawk Down movie…they showed clips from the movie and it looked pretty realistic! Lots of scenes of people “fast-roping” off of Blackhawks, Green-beanies coming in on the skids of “Little Birds”, and little frigging terrs firing RPGs at American soldiers…a few Americans and about a million africans…I wonder if I can talk my date Friday into going to see it?

Dave, tell me if the movie is any good. Bill Clinton should be in jail for his stupidity over how he handled the whole thing. I knew two people who were killed there. One was SSG Busch a Ranger who took an RPG in the side and MSG Martin a delta operator who I served with in 7th special forces group. Two delta snipers recieved the medal of honor for what they did trying to retrieve the pilot from the second chopper. Most of america is still clueless as to what these men have done for them. Duty Honor Country. Yeah and these civilians think you need to take guns away from these men to control crime! Guns in the hands of this kind of men won the liberals the luxury of whining!
I still get very upset and I am not sure I can watch the movie. I’m sure I will but not from the same standpoint as most.
