Boycotting Sara Lee: Is this an old idea?
I was scanning the wagc website for anything new, and I ran into the original “boycott Sara Lee” page. I was surprised to learn that Hanes, Hanes Her Way, L’eggs, Bali, and Playtex were all Sara Lee products. What I’d like to do is draft a nice, polite letter to Sara Lee stating that because of their anti-Second Amendment stance, I can no longer purchase their products and within the letter make special reference to the above named brands. I would enclose with the letter several pairs of panty hose, at least one Playtex brassiere, and maybe a few pairs of underwear, along with a statement saying that they can have these things back now – I won’t be wearing them anymore.
Obviously, If I do this as ONE individual, I can be written off as a nutcase. But what happens if Sara Lee receives THOUSANDS of packages as described above, all at the same time? Would it get press coverage?
Also-Leggs & Hanes brands cover (I think) almost all the panty hose on the market. IS the same true with bras & underwear? Are we dealing with a monopoly (meaning we’d have to go bra-less to protest) or just an oligopoly (Meaning each Bra sent to them represents real $$ lost to their competitors)?
