Cops have no duty to protect you OR your children , so who will?

They will lose. It’s a matter of settled law that the police have no
obligation to protect anyone, just a general duty to enforce the law.
Except in certain very special cases, like someone in the witness
protection program or other’s aiding the police, or in police custody, they
don’t have come when you call, they don’t have to protect you once they
arrive, if they do come.
