Dallas’s big news this week…

March 1st, 2012

was that three children, the last one a little black girl under three (I did not see the pictures of the other two) drowned from walking into mom and dad’s back yard swimming pool. Where were mom and dad? Why was there no “safety device” such as a damn FENCE?

Each time, the parents began missing their child, went looking and found them face down in the pool. Then they whined about the terrible tragedy. Yet another man I heard of is grieving because his toddler crawled under his back wheels while he was working on his car and when he went to drive the car he drove over his little boy and killed him. Pardon me folks, but did some people have their heads up their asses, to put it very mildly?

I read an article last night about how some kid went to school with a, and ah yes, the big quote from a lady talking to the paper: “and our politicians want us to have more guns, more concealed weapons” (no, the kid was not a licensed concealed carrier, he was an airheaded idiot, one of those that WE don’t want armed either) “do we really want a bunch more guns out there? We need to STOP this nonsense, not add to it!”

Would not the boy be alive if dad had been smart enough to glance under his car before moving it?? Would not those three kids be alive if there had either been a ban on private pools, or a law demanding a fence??

Even the women reporting it stated “this was the third pool drowning this week.”

I’ll have to notify the Brady Coalition to Prevent Child Drowning Deaths.
