Davidians and Segregation
I just saw “WACO: Rules of Engagement.” I thought I was going to be sick. It was a real eye-opener. I’d like to explore one thing that my husband noticed (has nothing to do with the FBI burning and gassing that they say they didn’t do). At the very beginning, where the movie goes thru the history of the Davidians, there is footage of BLACKS and WHITES living and working side by side. It wasn’t brought out or pointed out in the video, it was just part of the clips that were shown. I missed it altogether until he pointed it out to me. This is footage from the THIRTIES. Is there any history on this sort of thing? I always assumed that at that point in our history, there was total segregation, and that it would have been VERY unusual to see blacks and whites acting together as “equals.” Yet we saw this in the footage of the Davidians. Either they were very progressive, or my assumptions about segregation are wrong. Has anyone read anything on this? Any good sources of info?
