A friend emigrated from Russia a few years ago
and is now a U.S. citizen. He recently asked me
for help in selecting and legally purchasing a
refurbished Russian-made handgun for
self-defense. Many excellent guns from the former
Soviet Union are available at reasonable prices.
The punch line is that he reflected, “I had to
come thousands of miles from home to legally
purchase a Russian gun. In Russia, they don’t
trust the cops to carry guns except by special
issue. They can’t take them home at night. Only
thieves and murderers carry guns, and they take
advantage of an unarmed population.”
