A Fulton County man held two burglary suspects at gunpoint Tuesday after
they broke into his neighbor’s house, police said.

Three men broke into a home in the 9600 block of Cedar Grove Road about 11
a.m. Tuesday by kicking in the front door. They ransacked it, stealing
electronic equipment and jewelry while homeowner Ron Harrison was away.

A neighbor on his way to his landscaping job drove by and noticed the front
door open to Harrison’s house. He then saw two men carrying items out of the
home.

Jerry Saye returned to his own home, called 911, and grabbed a gun. When he
returned to the scene of the crime, the truck’s driver apparently spotted
him and sped away, leaving the two others to flee on foot.

Saye later spotted the two men and ordered them, at gunpoint, into his
truck. He took the suspects back to the victim’s home and held them until
police arrived at the scene.

?I feel blessed that he was home. They could have carried everything in my
house out,? Harrison said.

The two captured suspects have been identified as 46-year-old Marvin Antonio
Hammond and 34-year-old James Randall McCalvan, Jr. They have been charged
with burglary.

?He?s an excellent neighbor. We rely on people like that all the time to be
our eyes and ears. We encourage all the citizens to assist us in
neighborhood watches,? said Lt. David Childs of Fulton County police of
Saye.

Police are seeking the third man who they said fled the scene in a white
Chevy extended cab pick-up. Police said they have good leads regarding the
third suspect and added that they may be able to recover most of the stolen
goods.
