Gun-case teen’s bail revoked

A Hamilton judge yanked bail yesterday for a teenager accused of holding
a cocked and loaded sawed-off shotgun to a man’s head. Eric Kaminski,
19, is also accused of breaking the nose of the man’s girlfriend by
striking her with the gun butt.
He was released from jail on bail 10 days ago by a local justice of the
peace, but assistant Crown attorney Katherine Livingstone brought an
application for a bail review before Superior Court Justice Thomas
Lofchik. The prosecutor succeeded in having the JP’s decision overturned
and the accused teenager returned to custody.
Kaminski faces charges of assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm,
possession of a loaded prohibited weapon, assault while in possession of
a firearm, possessing a weapon while prohibited to do so and three
breaches of probation orders.
The alleged attack occurred on New Year’s Eve in the lobby of a
residential highrise on Quigley Road and Greenhill Avenue. Two other
men, Ryan Beaudry, 20, and Rocco Bombardieri, 19, face a number of
weapons-related accusations in connection with the incident.
