Gun-control folly

Re: Mother charged with killing daughters, Oct. 5.

I hope that recent cases of parents killing their young children will
demonstrate the need for us to pay more attention to the issue of
domestic violence. It seems that domestic violence has been hijacked
over the past decades by the gun-control lobby to support the endless
millions spent on their specific cause.

Spending money on “gun control” does nothing to prevent non-gun
violence. That money should be spent on counselling and shelters, where
it can help the most people, and not dumped where it gathers the most
media attention and votes. Spending millions on the fallout from a dozen
high-profile shooting victims while ignoring thousands being quietly
beaten, bludgeoned, and stabbed is madness.
