European-Americans are easier to attack when they can’t shoot back. That lesson was not lost upon the gangs in Central Park last Sunday and has always motivated the Congressional Black Caucus. (Why do you think non African-American and Latino-American legislators widely support any attempt at domestic disarmament?)

CNN has broadcast video shot during Sunday’s assaults on unarmed women in Central Park. The assailants appear to be of African or Carribean descent. The only victims pictured appeared to be of European descent. These crimes were clearly inter-racial. (But then, MOST violent crime is.)

Since the victims were European tourists or European-Americans the crimes will be given scant attention after a couple of days. And don’t expect much in the way of attempts at prosecution. New York, after all, is to a large extent, a Third World city.

Imagine, however, if the races were reversed. There would be non-stop coverage of “crisis” proportions. Rev. J.J. would be on Nightline and all the Sunday talk shows. The attacks would make the cover of every news weekly. And, of course, the President would announce in the Rose Garden that he has ordered Janet Reno to oversee a team to investigate any possible civil rights violations.
