Recent events have reminded me of a scene in one of my favorite movies.

Did you ever see “The Alamo” with John Wayne, Richard Widmark and Lawrence Harvey? In it there is a scene where one of the Tennessee volunteers challenges David Crockett (John Wayne) to a contest. He wins the right to take the first punch and strikes Crockett with all his strength, staggering the man.

One of the onlookers cries: “Look, he’s still standing!”

The challenger moans: “Oh, no!”

Crockett/Wayne says: “Oh yes! …and now it’s my turn!”

I wonder if Osama bin Laden ever saw that movie?
