New York’s City Council, which has more HIV-positive members than any other municipal body in America, voted 46 to 1 to condemn the NRA for “the unconscionable step of promoting guns and gun use right here in New York City.” Unconscionable? One would think the NRA plans to display paintings of the Virgin Mary smeared with cow dung. Even if “NRA Sportsblast” never opens in the Big Apple it has shown how intolerant the city’s ruling class can be towards anything that portrays firearms in a positive light.
