Keynote Speech at “Arizona Gun Safety Forum”
The man widely considered the father of modern shooting technique is
coming to the Burton Barr downtown Phoenix Library on April 21 to
address a packed house at the “2001 Arizona Gun Safety Forum.” The
legendary defensive weaponcraft expert, now 81, was a Marine Lt. Col. in
WWII and Korea, and is credited with revolutionizing pistol, rifle and
shotgun defensive training.
“Jeff had heard about the Forum and was already planning to attend, when
I met with him last week,” says Jane Anne Hulen, Director of Marketing
for Gunsite Academy in Paulden, Ariz., and a co-sponsor of the event. A
quick check with the event organizers met with unanimous interest in
having him speak. Cooper founded the internationally renowned academy
in 1975.
AVAILABLE FOR INTERVIEW: Nationally recognized experts attending the
Gun Safety Forum will be available for news media interviews prior to
the Forum from noon to 1 p.m. In addition to the unique appearance by
Cooper, author and Second Amendment Foundation founder, Alan Gottlieb is
flying in from Seattle; Dr. Timothy Wheeler, Director of Doctors for
Responsible Gun Ownership will arrive from California, and Dr. Sarah
Thompson, head of the Utah Gun Owner’s Alliance will be in from Salt
Lake City. More than a dozen Arizona experts on gun safety, legal
issues and law enforcement are participating in the non-partisan,
non-political public presentation. Charles Goyette of KFYI is the
emcee.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend, by reserving a
complimentary seat by phone, at 602-808-1283, or by email, to
[email protected] Nearly a dozen pieces of literature will be
provided to all attendees, including two books.
Scheduled to debut at the event is the just-released “New Age Gun Safety
Manual,” with studies and data for anyone concerned about the critical
gun-safety issue. Light refreshments, and a happy hour gathering
afterwards are planned for attendees.
