Gun registry funds had better uses

Save the gun registry, Editorial, Dec. 8.

The only people who register guns, are the people who never intend to
use them in a violent manner. I am sure none of the “gang bangers” have
registered or ever intend to register their weapons. Now we are talking
$1 billion and climbing for this nonsensical exercise, which penalizes
honest people and, I am sure, no one can prove this registry has saved
one life. However, if we put the $1 billion into our health-care system,
we could have saved hundreds of lives by now and thousands in the
future.
