Guns deter criminals
——————————————————————————–
I am more and more dumbfounded by the rationale of the civil liberties movement.
Again, they are more concerned with the bad guys’ civil rights than they are with
the victims’ basic human right to ride public transit without being robbed, beaten,
knifed or even killed.
Transit officers need to have any and all resources available to them to do the
most effective job.
The sight of a real gun scares most people.
If a TransLink officer never uses his weapon, but the sight of it makes these idiots
think about the consequences of their actions, then it’s a step in the right direction.
The civil-liberties people should be focusing on the rights of law-abiding citizens,
whose civil liberties are being grossly violated everyday by the jerks they seem
so intent on protecting.
