I agree 100%, anytime anyone MIS uses a firearm they should be punished.

Girl, 11, serious after bus shooting – Nov. 29.

As terrible as the shooting of an innocent girl on a city bus may be,
even more tragic is a legal system that allows handgun use to be a
reasonable risk to thugs and bullies. What the government must do is
make the penalty for handgun possession so severe that even idiots like
the ones on the bus wouldn’t risk the penalty. And use of a handgun in
the commission of a crime or assault should get the user locked up for
good.

Those penalties may seem harsh, but the message should be clear. I doubt
if that little girl would be in danger of losing her sight if those
morons only had fists, or even knives, to fight with.
