As a Jewish legislator, I am appalled and embarrassed by the actions and positions of three Jewish US Senators who are in the forefront of gun control and confiscation – Sens. Feinstein, Lautenberg and Schumer. Don’t they understand the lessons of both Jewish and US history, as well as Biblical injunctions “and you must surely guard your life”?
The knee-jerk reaction of many Jewish Americans to trust our government at all costs is and has been fraught with peril. They think it could never happen in America, but is HAS and continues. Witness US citizens of Japanese ancestry who were rounded up and put in concentration camps. Their capture was made accessible through the illegal use of confidential census data to locate them block by block, tract by tract and house by house. Tuskegee experiments on Black Americans, Waco and Ruby Ridge, the atrocities go on and on.
Wendell Phillips said in 1852 “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.” In the spirit of the Jewish New Year, I call on these US Jewish Senators to return to Torah values and immediately renounce their positions that are dangerous to Jews and all freedom-loving Americans.

Republican, Dist. 37, E. Cobb, Georgia
