Officer must go to court to face gun charges

A Toronto police officer living in Oakville is facing charges related to
the unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Police said the officer turned himself in after an investigation by
police was completed last week. It is alleged he had an unregistered
handgun.
The 41-year-old officer will appear in court Jan. 9 to answer to the
charges.
The officer is facing two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
and one count of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device.
