Here’s another story of a woman who found out (the hard way) that restraining orders do NOT protect you. Where would she be had she had a self defense weapon? Guess we’ll never know!

Man charged with pushing ex-girlfriend from ninth-story window

A South Side man was ordered held without bond today after being charged
with first-degree murder for allegedly pushing his ex-girlfriend out of
a ninth-floor window of her apartment.

Johnnie Hill, 30, of 750 E. 61st St., also is charged with home invasion
in the weekend death of Tamara Miller, 27, of the 6400 block of South
Lowe Avenue.

Hill allegedly went to Miller’s building on Saturday morning and stood
in a hallway waiting for her to leave her apartment. When she opened her
door he allegedly forced his way in, beat her and forced her to strip.

He then allegedly forced her out a window, and she fell to her death.
Officers found the woman naked and facedown on the building’s entrance
canopy.

Authorities believe Miller put up a fight before falling, because pieces
of her fingernails were found near the window.

Authorities also said today that Miller had obtained an order of
protection against Hill. The order took effect in December 2000 and was
to last until June 2002.

Police said over the weekend that Miller’s sister, who lives in the same
apartment complex, told investigators they had been talking on the phone
about 20 minutes before the woman fell. During the conversation, the
sister heard a loud banging from Miller’s apartment, possibly someone
knocking at her door, Herrera said.’

Order of Protection a poor parachute as she is forced to die a quite
