My letter to Levi’s

March 1st, 2012

I was ACROMONIOUS about the wording of this company’s on line petition. I have asked all 18 members of my lobbying cell to send similar messages to this firm. I will NEVER purchase another Levi’s product for myself or my family again!

To whom it concerns:

Having rid my household of all Levi Strauss products, I am now free to join the boycott against your firm.

Although I am certain that your firm will limit itself to a generic, canned response to my notification, I will none the less attempt to educate Levi Strauss.

First, I must insist that you publish the source that supports your statement that “common sense gun legislation is supported by the majority of gun owners”, your definition of common sense including demands that I lock up my safety and be responsible for a burglar who may steal my firearm and commit a crime. I have contacted several gun rights organizations and can find no evidence that supports this outrageous lie.

I wonder if you would support legislation that holds car owners responsible for criminal actions involving their stolen cars? Your firm clearly supports treating guns like cars. OK. When I get my gun license, allow me to carry any gun, in any state. You must realize the faulty nature of this analogy. Automobile ownership is not even arguable as a right.

I suggest that your firm’s executive staff educate themselves by reading the sound, well thought out scholarship on the subject of private firearm ownership and the second amendment.

Sincerely,

Debra A Collins
