Shooting won’t result in charge
A staff report

MAXTON – William Strickland will not be charged in a shooting at his
home Thursday, lawmen said.

Strickland told authorities that he shot Jonathan Bryant after Bryant
shot at him. The shooting happened at Strickland’s home at 3714 McGirt
Gin Road.

Bryant was taken to Duke University Medical Center, where he underwent
surgery, Robeson County Sheriff’s Maj. Randal Patterson said. His
condition was unavailable.

Patterson said deputies plan to continue their investigation.
