yesterday’s African American Family Day at the National Zoo in Washington.

Politicians would be demanding registration… if the city hadn’t had
registration for generations;

– demanding a handgun ban… if it hadn’t been on the D.C. books for a
quarter century;

– demanding a five-day waiting period… if 16-year olds didn’t already
have a five-year wait;

– demanding that youths couldn’t possess handguns… if it hadn’t been
prohibited for a decade;

– demanding that it be a felony to bring a firearm into the District from
neighboring Maryland or Virginia, or a felony for a District resident to buy
one somewhere else… if it hadn’t been prohibited by Federal law since 1968.

So what is a politician to do?

Maybe call for trigger locks. >>
